At NVSA, we have been training students in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area since 1976 with over 10,000 graduates on our rolls. Our Director, Howard L. Miller, Jr. has over 30 years experience in the private security industry both in practice and as an instructor. We offer entry level, In-service, and requalification courses for security officers (armed and unarmed), Private Investigators, Personal Protection Specialists, and Special Conservator of the Peace. Our courses, instructors and class plans are approved by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). Upon satisfactory completion of the course and an approved application by DCJS, you will be qualified to work with a licensed agency in Virginia. The courses have also been helpful to those who wish to expand their knowledge of the criminal justice system and homeland defense.
